


Antique Victorian Walnut Parlor Chair circa 1800’s (original)
Victorian period (1837–1901) walnut parlor chair reflecting the tastes of the period. The chair has a straight shape with curves along the bottom of the chair cushion, the legs of the chair and the back of the seat. This chair also has curved moldings and decorative friezes. The original upholstery is a plush, luxurious material. This gives that extra attention to texture and details




The chair is totally original for better or worse
All fabric on the chair was originally blue and will serve as pattern, to reupholster the chair.
The back of the seat is the original tufted style upholstery featuring covered buttons.
The chair seat has a smooth style upholstery for comfort.

The Bottom of chair is starting to fall through due to age. The seat appears to be cushioned with steel coil springs, straw and horse hair & mohair and fastened brass upholstery tacks.
The top crown is a solid piece of wood with detailed carving on the top of chair with two raised burled wood appliques as accent.
The side and bottom rails of back chair frame are detailed with fluted carvings.
Scrolled decorative corbels supporting back of chair from the sides of the seat.
The Front of seat has carvings with a centered raised burled wood applique as accent.
The Front legs are round turned Victorian style and have original wooden antique casters.
Back 2 legs are made of a solid piece of wood from the floor to the crown for strength.
The rear side of the chair has a framed upholstered panel.
